Assets in the Region:
The Mid-Atlantic region consists of a broad geographic area crossing three state boundary lines - Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. By combining these assets, this region is emerging as a nanotech leader with research, development and industrial initiatives already underway.
Supported by an expanding technical, business, and financial infrastructure. MANA is a collaborative effort that was founded by the New Jersey Commission on Science and Technology, Delaware Technology Park, and Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania.
New Jersey Commission on Science and Technology
is responsible for the development and oversight of the programs in science and technology that can advance economic development and employment in New Jersey.
Delaware Technology Park
is a partnership among the State of Delaware, the University of Delaware, and the private sector to create and retain high-value jobs for the Mid-Atlantic Region through the commercialization of new technologies and the support of technology-oriented businesses.
Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania was the lead organization in the creation of the Nanotechnology Institure (NTI), a prime in the initial investigative work surrounding the potential and promise of nanotechnology in the Philadelphia region, and has developed strategic relationships with many provider organizations.
Through this multi-state partnership, MANA is leveraging these resources to position the Mid-Atlantic Region as a global hub for the expanded research, development, application, and commercialization of nanotechnology, in particular in the bio/pharma, materials, chemicals & energy and opto-electronic applications.

Nano in Action
'Fore' No More?
Nanotechnology helps golf balls fly straighter. Nanotechnology is helping golf
balls correct their own flight path so they fly straighter than conventional
golf balls. Exciting nanotechnology advances better channel the power from
the club head to reduce slices and fades.
